PROFILE: Pansy Weiss was born in the early 1900’s. In 1981 when she was added to the PIONEER section, at the age of 80, Weiss was still active as a trainer for her own kennel, Weiss Way. Weiss has been in the greyhound industry for more than 40 years.

HISTORY: Pansy Weiss started out raising greyhounds in Texas during the 1930’s. Weiss received her first kennel license in 1939. Pansy was married for a while to another kennel owner, the late Dock Shocley. Weiss has been a trainer for the majority of her greyhound career. Weiss continues to run her kennel in Jacksonville, and raise a few pups on her farm in Western Florida. Weiss enjoys traveling to Jacksonville to see her greyhounds run.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Pansy Weiss was the only woman trainer for many years. Weiss has handled many fine greyhounds down through the years.
