Pat C Rendezvous

Pat C Rendezvous set a new world record win streak in 1994 with 36 consecutive victories.

Owned by Pat Collins Kennel, the brindle female out of Pat C Best Yet and Westpark Fly Off* was born in November of 1991.  Despite placing fifth on her first start on the 3/8ths mile course on October 9, 1993, she finished in the money in her next 52 races in a row at that distance.

On June 4, 1994, Pat C Rendezvous crossed the finish line first for the 33^rd time, breaking the previous world record of 32 victories in a row set by Ballyregan Bob in Brighton, England.  The historic race at Palm Beach Kennel Club included a world-wide audience via simulcast, a relatively new technology in the greyhound world at the time, and was covered by ESPN and other sport networks.  The event warranted the greyhound nicknamed “Rhonda” a feature article in Sports Illustrated magazine.

That same year, Pat C Rendezvous won the Flashy Sir Award as the country’s best distance greyhound, was named captain of the All-America team, and won the North American Win Title with 52 wins, making her the only greyhound, up to that point in time, to earn all three titles in the same year.  She also is the only animal to receive the Presidential Award from the Palm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame.

Her 3/8ths mile record at Palm Beach Kennel Club was 77-17-9-2 in 111 starts, her overall record was 85-20-12-5 in 141 starts.

She retired in 1996 as the winningest greyhound in Palm Beach Kennel Club history with 86 wins, after being deemed captain of the All-Palm Beach Kennel Club team in 1994 and named to the 1995 team.  The Kennel Club renamed the Pat C Rendezvous 3/8ths mile course in her honor and named a Challenge race after her as well.
