
Boyle, E.J.
Profile:
E.J. Boyle was born in Butte, Mont. and was in the greyhound business for more than four decades. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the National Greyhound Association, and was a supporter of the Greyhound Hall of Fame. He died on Dec. 12, 1974.
History:
Boyle began racing greyhounds in the early 1930s in California and was involved in the early years of greyhound racing in Panama in Central America. He operated his own kennel under his name for at least two decades before retiring in 1972, ending E.J. Boyle Kennel’s long association with Derby Lane in St. Petersburg, Fla., and Wonderland Greyhound Park in Revere, Mass.
