The Greyhound Hall of Fame invites you to submit your pet’s photo and story to be featured on our museum monitor — displayed for thousands of visitors each year. Once reviewed and approved by our team, your pet’s story will be shared with the world and preserved as part of our community’s legacy.

Submission Guidelines

To ensure a consistent and family-friendly experience for all museum visitors, please review the following requirements before submitting.

Photo Requirements

Photos must be clear, well-lit, and show your pet prominently. Minimum 800x600px resolution. JPG, PNG, or WEBP formats only. Maximum file size: 5MB.

Content Guidelines

Stories should be family-friendly and focus on your pet. Maximum 500 words. No promotional or advertising content. Written in English only.

What Is Accepted

Greyhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Whippets, and other sighthound breeds. Heartwarming stories, racing memories, adoption stories, and daily life moments.

What Is Not Accepted

Blurry or inappropriate photos, offensive language, commercial advertising content, or submissions without verifiable owner information.

Privacy Note

Your email address is never displayed publicly. Only your pet’s name, first name, and story excerpt will be shown on the website and museum monitor.

Review Process

All submissions are manually reviewed by our team within 3–5 business days. You will be notified by email once your submission is approved or if revisions are needed.

  • Greyhound

    Kelda

    Kelda (b. 6/3/2012) was our first greyhound, but not our first dog. We thought we knew what we were signing up for. In the personality section of the info sheet we got at her adoption, they hadn’t checked ‘playful’, ‘friendly’, or ‘high energy’. They hadn’t checked any of the boxes actually, but had handwritten “The Boss”. Whoever wrote that wasn’t kidding! Kelda liked things her way and wasn’t shy about letting us humans know when we were slipping. She had raced for 5 years until the effects of age and injury forced her retirement in 2017. At a local Greyhound Playgroup, organized to give retired racers a chance to run with each other, Kelda always held her own and didn’t take any nonsense from the larger boys trying to push her out of the way. It was easy to see why she raced so long.
    In Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series, a kelda keeps her clan in order, makes decisions, and is effectively their protector and head of state. But under the bluster, and if you passed her test, Kelda was a sweet girl. We miss her every day.

    Koko

    Koko is a greeter at the Greyhound Hall of Fame. She came to us from Tracy Wildey Kennels in February of 2024. She is the boss around here. Koko loves attention, snacks, and her partner in crime, Max. She is a sweetheart. When kids ask if they can pet her, I warn them that she will kiss them if they’re not careful. She is always the first at the door to greet our visitors, and they all love her.

    Earl

     

    When Lily stood amongst all of the Greys up for adoption at Southland in June 2022, Earl (Arno’s MoMike) walked up beside her and put his head in her hand…that was it; Lily was chosen.  Everyone, and I mean everyone, falls in love with Earl. He is the sweetest dog we have ever met… but don’t be fooled, he is also IN CHARGE.   He is much adored in his post-racing home. ❤️

How Long Does Approval Take?

Our team reviews all submissions within 3–5 business days. You will receive an email notification once your submission has been reviewed — whether approved or if changes are requested.

Will My Photo Be Displayed At The Museum?

Yes! Once approved, your pet’s photo and story will be displayed on the monitor at the Greyhound Hall of Fame in Abilene, Kansas, for all visitors to enjoy. It will also appear in the online gallery.

Can I Submit Multiple Pets?

Absolutely! You may submit a story and photo for each of your pets separately. Each submission will go through its own individual review process before being approved and published.

What Photo Size Is Required?

Photos should be a minimum of 800×600 pixels for clear display on the museum monitor. Max file size is 5MB. We accept JPG, PNG, and WEBP formats. High resolution photos are encouraged.

Does My Pet Need To Be A Greyhound?

While the Hall of Fame focuses on greyhounds, we also welcome Italian Greyhounds, Whippets, and other sighthound breeds. All breed submissions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Can I Update Or Remove My Submission?

Yes. If you’d like to update your pet’s story or photo, or request removal from the gallery, please contact us at info@greyhoundhalloffame.com and we’ll assist you promptly.
