Inductees: My Laddie

1965 - Greyhound Hall of Fame Inductee

Your son, Rural Rube, and your sire, Traffic Officer, have already been enshrined in the Greyhound Hall of Fame. Certainly, you could not long be denied your rightful place among the racing immortals.

It has been said that probably no dog ever captured the imagination of the greyhound breeder more than you. In the United States, your name has become a legend. Your name is heard on the coursing field, greyhound track, and in the kennel- wherever greyhound bloodlines are mentioned, your name is commonplace. Many feel that your equal as a sire will never be produced again.

Concerning your racing ability, you were a sure winner whenever within a few lengths of the leader, hitting the home stretch. Many felt you to have almost human cunning.

Your greatest conquest was the $10,000 Baden Championship Sweepstakes. You defeated the pick of the country and, at the same time, established a national track record of 31 and 1-5 for the 5-16ths in your final race against the Pacific Coast Champion, Ralph Agricola.

Bearing out your greatness as a producing son of Traffic Officer, your second offspring, Fern Neture, takes her place in the Hall of Fame beside you. As of 1965, you are the only sire besides Never Roll with two offspring in the Greyhound Hall of Fame.
